Where We Are
Kirstin’s Haven Housing Program’s (KHHP) provides Veterans, low income and homeless persons, in Prince Georges County, Maryland, with safe permanent supportive housing options. Our goal is to provide individuals and families with a foundation to begin the process of permanent residence stabilization. We offer resources and services in the community that enable our participants to become empowered to live self-sufficient and productive lives. KHHP strives:
* To provide safe, affordable housing for homeless veterans.
* To facilitate, coordinate and provide, as needed, supportive services.
* Assist military families to achieve sustained self-sufficiency through independent
living in a nurturing environment.
Kirstin’s Haven residents will have a supportive case management team. This team will utilize need assessment tools to identify mental, emotional and physical needs. At KHHP we believe our staffing patterns enable us to meet the unique challenges of veterans. We will work closely with the County to ensure non-duplicative services and that services are provided to the most vulnerable. By using the County’s Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) KHHP will be able to coordinate services
with other providers and track program participant outcomes.

Baltimore Projects:
After incorporation, five years ago, KHHP became aware of a critical Baltimore and State of Maryland community need. HOMELESS VETERANS. As a result, in addition to providing housing and support services to the general homeless population and families, we placed a particular emphasis on Veterans.
KHHP’s immediate planned expansion includes eight (8) units of permanent housing at our recently acquired Auchentoroly Terrance location. Absent unforeseen rehabilitation problems these units should be completed and available before the end of 2015. Our construction activities plan includes an opportunity to train and employ veterans.This plan will facilitate job placement for veterans as well as train them in construction trades. Creation of these opportunities will help their transition into the civilian workforce.
Kirstin’s Haven, Inc. is current leasing a facility in Prince George’s County, Maryland with the potential to house veterans. Immediate expansion plans include the renovation of a recently acquired multi-level multi-occupant capable facility on Auchentoroly Terrance in Baltimore, Maryland. Absent unforeseen delays this facility will be ready for occupancy before year end 2015.
